Still life paintings of 'things' that I enjoyed and mattered to me in 2015 were painted on the packaging from the coffee subscription I was getting weekly.
These intentionally simplistic illustrations depict seemingly ordinary objects that hold significant meaning to me, each brushstroke carefully crafted onto discarded waste card. My coffee subscription had accumulated an abundance of packaging materials, and I found myself searching for a constructive outlet. There is a certain joy in transforming something that was once perceived as worthless into a piece of art that can be appreciated. This concept has left me pondering the idea of assigning value to the overlooked and unvalued, prompting further contemplation.
