Minimalised sea horizons painted over vintage maps, signed with a pair of custom-made Hanko (Japanese wooden stamps) inspired by two of the tattoos on my right arm, an octopus and the number 13.
Standing on the shore looking out to sea, everything is simple and calm inside, I contemplate the recent earthquake and the tsunami warning that would have sent the sea to devastate the land. The fundamental trust in the solidity of earth was as shaken as the contents of my home. Maps lost their trust, the sea was painted over them, slight details pear through, the folds are obvious.
